Do you own your own laboratory?
Yes. StemCord has two wholly-owned laboratories, at Science Park I and Science Park II.
How many cord blood samples has your company stored?
More than 17,000 cord blood samples have been entrusted to StemCord.
Which doctors/hospitals have collected for StemCord?
StemCord has collected samples from all hospitals in Singapore.
Has any of your samples been requested for use in transplant?
No.
How do I know that these cryopreserved stem cells will work when we need to use them years later?
StemCord has contributed to the care of patients with cancers such as lymphomas, myelomas, leukemias, germ cell tumors and sarcomas. Stem cells were collected from the blood or bone marrow of these patients, processed and stored at StemCord’s laboratory, and subsequently used in conventional stem cell transplants. The successful engraftment for all our patients is a testament to the reliability of StemCord's stringent processing and storage methods.
Is StemCord financially stable?
StemCord is not directly involved in research and development as it is very capital intensive and could potentially cripple a company financially. StemCord believes that the best uses of stem cells will be in the future. Hence, the company must be financially stable and must remain viable in the future. To protect our client’s interests, we cannot allow risky ventures that may bankrupt the company.
